Smartest Countries in the World 2025–2026: Ranking Countries by IQ, Education & Cognitive Performance

What does it really mean for a country to be called “smart”?
The question seems simple but the answer is not.

A country can have exceptional maths results without every student becoming a scientist. It can have a educated population without always leading in every type of test. It can spend a lot on schools. Still have problems with fairness in education. It can do well on tests that measure intelligence while still having issues with creativity, real-life skills moving up in society or getting access to education.
